Hi guys,
New guy here.

I just picked up a 2001 mim Strat and now I want to start fixing her up.
Here's what I'm thinking:

Callaham Mexican Standard Strat Bridge Assembly
Tex Mex Pickups
Fender-Schaller Locking Tuners
Fender Schaller Chrome Strap Locks

Anything else you guy's recommend?

Here's a couple of pics

I'd play her for a while before doing anything. I have an 04 MIM and it is sweet just as she is.

Why do all those mods :?: If it is to increase the value, you will never recoup the expenditure when you resell it.
If it is because it's not working then I would take it one step at a time if at all.
From the second photo I don't see anything which warrants fixing.
It looks in terrific shape, I have that bridge on my 2001 MIM, nothing wrong with it.
The pick ups you may want to switch to a TBX pot or just have it rewired for a completely different option of NM, NB, MB, NMB and B instead of the conventional NM, MB, N, M, B. There are a lot of options open in just rewiring. I also believe those are the vintage pups so they will put out when wired optimally.
The tuners, unless they are not engaging and there is freeplay when you go up or down those are fine Shallers made for Fender.
As for the strap locks, Yes that is always a plus no matter what.

By the way you failed to mention what you are after soundwise, if you are playing R & B or R & R then this should be great, if on the other hand you are talking about metal then that is a whole other conundrum.
Also what amp/s are you running it with :?:

Last but most important is the guitar setup correctly (for You ) :?: Pick up height, string height, intonation, strings not binding on either the nut or as they emerge from the bridge onto the saddles.

THis last point would and always should be the first modification.

The reason for the mods are that the guitar plays ok, sounds ok. I want it to play and sound great! Its in amazing shape for being almost 10 years old. I dont care for the pickups at all. I'm hoping the bridge replacement would help with sustain, clarity, and tone. And as far as the tuners go, well, thats just me being lazy!

As for the sound I'm after. Blues and blues rock. I play through a Classic 30. I have it pretty well set up. The last Strat I had was an American Deluxe and if I can get this thing sounding anywhere close to that one I'd be a happy guy!

OK my 2001 MIM was a Players Deluxe, I switched the tuners to Sperzel locking, and pups were changed to SCN's, which I believe were in the American Deluxe's. I have not done anything else
other than delete the Push/push switch option ( also replaced the pickguard instead of plugging the hole.)

Go for it! If you don't like the changes you can always revert it back.

Do a full setup first!, and do it yourself. All but the neck adjusting is totally doable. Lots of instructions all over the net, but I just redid my '04 MIM Fat Strat and the results were fantastic. There are lots of little tips you won't find out there without really digging. Let me know if I can help. As for the PUPs, the ceramics sound great if set up the right distance from the strings, though they will never sound like a "real" Strat unless you change them to alnico V magnets.

It was pretty well set up when I got it. I had to raise the action up some as I play pretty heavy handed. I put thicker strings on it and had to adjust the truss rod a tiny bit.
Pickups are the first thing I'll change. I'll see about everything else after that I suppose.

On the other hand, the Deluxes in Trans Blue with Tortoise pickguard, White knobs and gold hardware are amongst the ugliest Strats ever made. This is just my opinion. If you own one of these, I apologize. (get your eyes checked  ) The red does look good though.

HEYYY.... I actually like the trans blue color, the pickguard and knobs color I agree it's sort of like someone in a Black Tie top with sweat pants...but easily remedied..
