I dusted off my 20 year old Squire Strat and noticed the volume and pick-up switch were "scratchy". I decided to purchase the Deluxe Player's Strat. In doing my online research, I came across serial number info on my old Squier Strat. I never noticed but the head reads "Made in USA" with no serial number there. The serial number (000624) is located on a chrome plate on the heel. I plan on updating the electronics on this old squier as I love the feel of it, and don't plan to sell it. Internet posts indicate USA Squire's are rare and were made in '89 to '90. So, is this a rare guitar worth big bucks or just a Squier Strat that just happens to by USA built?

I have photos but I'm not sure if this forum allows posting of photos.

Hi Jerry1957,

Sounds like a cool Strat! If it is rare/valuable, it will be the most valuable with all original parts. And yes, please post some pics! :)

Anybody know how to post pics? I've looked and can't find anything. I'm new to this forum.

Thanks.

The pics must be on a publicly accessible site such as PhotoBucket (free) or similar site. Once loaded to the site, the pics will each have an IMG code, copy and paste the code into your post and then when you "preview" or "submit" your post, you will see the picture as part of your post.

OK. Thanks. Here are the picks. I should note that the photo of the strat on the floor looks like it has marks near the top. Nope, just a flash reflection. It's pretty clean 8)

Attached are some pic of the 1990 USA Squier I just picked up for 175.
I had to replace the electronics with USA ones due to failed components.

The neck one this guitar is something else, just as nicely finished as the neck on my 2010 USA american standard neck which I absolutely love.

a keeper...
