Many years ago there was a player in a local band that had 3 on off switches on his strat instead of the 3 ot 5 way switch, it gave him 7 pickup combinations and I always thought that might be neat to try. Recently looking on the net I found a set up with 3 on-off-on switches. You could have the pickups on in phase, out of phase or off if I understood it correctly.
1. What would the advantages of out of phase sounds be, and what would they sound like?
2. Anybody on the forums try this and how did you like it?
Thanks for any info.
Jim

I have my strat set up sorta like that. the biggest difference is I use a master tone and repositioned the volume. I think it's great, since it gives you any combinetion you please. I don't have it going out of phase since I'm not to keen on the sound, but the possibilities...yayImage

Mate that Jack plate is out of this world! What is it? It looks like you were sick of the angled jack and and just went "F**K IT" and bam, on goes the first piece of vintage cream plastic you could find. Very punk, Very DIY and Cool as IMHO.

No, but I love that color, is it yours? Is that a strat ultra?

This guitar is a Stratocaster Elite in Emerald Green which has been factory-fitted with a Kahler locking nut.

Believe it or not that is a Fender locking nut with fine tuners on it; I think these were only sold in 1984 and were available both as an aftermarket item or a factory installed option.

Dan, I like to leave the spring cover off, so I just chopped it to fit. yes, I can't stand the jack cup on a strat, and all my cables are angled. I also hate where the vol. knob is on the strats. I slapped a lefty neck on it too! This turned into a Jimi tribute.
