Hello everyone,

After tomorrow i might be the lucky owner of a Fender stratocaster, but...i have zero experience with Fender guitars, so i would like some opinions from you guys. This is the guitar i am talking about:

http://muziek.marktplaats.nl/snaarinstr ... itaar.html

I can't find a serialnumber on the pictures, so i was wondering if that is even possible for a real Fender. Or are there any Fenders with only a serialnumber on the neck plate?
Can anyone tell me?

Greetings Jochem

Looks suspicious. There should be something on the headstock for sure.

Do the american stratocasters say: ''made in usa'' right below the logo?
Because the picture is too blurry i asumed that's what it says. otherwise it might be a serialnumber.

Thanks for the quick reply,

Look at the screws on the cover on the back of the guitar. The two middle screws are directly across from each other. That's a definate red flag. It's not a made in USA Strat. He's tryin to pull a fast one. Also, the tuners don't look right either. BEWARE!!!

And that's why i ask you guys! Thank you for your reply.
The middle screws is certainly a clue. Those are the kind of things a fenderrookie like myself needs to know before buying one.

I'd pass on that guitar unless it's priced accordingly. I think it's a re-logo'd Squire..

I certainly dont like that tremelo arm, and those tuners are shocking - look like cheap Squire to me. No serial number I could see - is it on the neck plate? Don't like the look of the timber on the headstock or the lack of finish there. That's a cheapo string tree as well. As said elsewhere, the back plate is a joke. Possibly the least convincing USA Strat attempt I've yet seen. This seller isn't even trying!

Was thinking it could be a 62RI, but the tuners are wrong and the 12th fret markers are too far apart. The headstock logo is angled wrong.
Fake.

If it looks fishy it probably is a fake. There is no serial number which is a huge red flag, and the tuners look really really cheap (i just checked on my brothers starcaster and they look almost identical)

Its probably a squier
