Hello all!
I am looking to get a fuzz pedal as I need it for a medley I'v put together. I was hoping to get one somewhere $50 range. In the medley I need the fuzz for the songs:

Wild Thing ~ The Troggs (just end of verse)
Purple Haze ~ Jimi Hendrix
Layla ~ Eric Clapton
Day Tripper ~ The Beatles
Iron Man ~ Black Sabbath

I also like to play alot of KISS :P so it would be nice if the pedal went well with the distortion style of KISS.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, what else am I going to need for a pedal? Like a new cable or batteries?
Thank You so much in advance haha 8)

I recommend the Boss Powerstack stomp box. To my ears its better than any distortion pedal they've put out and its very versatile. Has a surprisingly authentic tube sound as well.

Give one a try. I think it will soon be their number one selling distortion pedal. Excellent.

50 bucks=used Jimi Hendrix fuzzface, will nail what you want. However, Kiss and fuzz dont go together. For Kiss, either a 50 watt Marshall or pick up a used Jcm 900 SL-X. Or put a lil more cash together and look for a used Fulltone 69 or 70.

i suggest you use a big muff from EHX. Its the most sold fuzz pedal and has a very wide tone. If you want to play kiss its very good!

No single drive unit is going to get all them sounds.
For a start off Daytripper is a clean sound. Iron Man a trebleboosted amp and Layla is a overdriven practice amp sound.

I think you need a boss overdrive or turbo distortion.

The Big Muff Pi has been my distortion pedal of choice for 40 years.I have tried many other fuzz pedals and own several others but the Muff still gets the most use after all these years.

Thanks for all the tips guys!! I was kind of looking at the DeltaLab RD1 pedal. It has good reviews ut does anyone here have anything else to say about it?

I know exactly what you mean. I'm not aiming for perfection on matching the original versions sound though so I just want something that will make Iron Man ,for instance, I just wanna make it sound rocky. Thanks for the advice though!
Also, will I need to buy a new cable to hook it up to my amp or does they typically come with one?

I've tried a couple of Fuzz pedals and that is one thing I am never satisfied with. Most are too noisy, sound is too saturated... I am now using a BYO pedal and I'm still searching for my perfect Fuzz. Sorry for the rant.

No they don't come with a cable.
As for a first drive/distortion I suggest this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Boss-DS2-Turbo-Distortion-Pedal/dp/B000RW2H4S

If you can find one. Their not expensive, are built like tanks, and cover a wide array of sounds if your new to drive pedals.
Trust me on this, I make my own fuzz's, I really don't think fuzz is for the guy new to effects. They can be very unforgiving. That Boss pedal can do hard and soft sounds reasonably well.
It ain't often you'll see me suggest Boss effects either.
