however I am glad Fender didnt go nuts and change the basic workings of our beloved guitars.

however still no modern guitar with surf green and an all maple neck, you guys are killing me here and are going to force me build my own from parts.

the sienna looks very nice I must say.

A bit dramatic?

Sure ... it's called MARKETING, man!

The company has got to make some coin.

I don't find it dramatic in the least. (Also, it's not really "marketing," but "advertising," which is only one component in the marketing mix, and for not even the most important one for a company like Fender).

Think about music before Fender guitars (especially the Strat and the Precision Bass) and Fender amps. Now think about what happened to music after they were created.

Fender instruments are a permanent part of music history. When you play a Fender, you're in touch with and a continuation of that history.

No brag, just fact. I think the line is a straight-forward statement, and Fender one of the few companies who could rightfully claim such a position. Even Gibson didn't change the face of music like Fender did.
