My all black '76 Strat was my #2 (my '74 Les Paul Custom was my #1) during my early band days playing high school dances and parties. We had a good ride, in the studio and on stage, right up until 1982 when I sold it to get a '62 Reissue Strat.

Can I play? It's not a '76, it's a '78.

I bought this one new on Nov. 1, 1976. But based on all of the parts dates, it was actually made in late 1975.

Here's my 79 Antigua Strat. Bought it to replace my 76 cracked finish anniversary white strat. Sold it for my 87 strat. Wish I still had it. Great guitar. I'm Jonesin for a 70's headstock now.

Hi Bluesstrattone, Mate this is my 500th post and figure it is only right to use it on this topic and your post.

Well it's funny you say you want a 73 because that is your year of birth.

Well my friend I am born in May 1973 and in my quest for my birth Strat I ended up with a 76 instead, however the Sister axe in my photo posted is a 1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom.

I will have to settle for that for now, lol not that I am complaining

73 is a nice drop of red..
