Just got my Classic Player 60's strat, and it's great. Looked under the pickguard, and noticed that the back of the pickups are not the same as the Custom Shop Custom 69's. I'm assuming that these pickups are custom voiced Made in Mexico versions of those same pickups...and not the actual Custom shop's pickups. Also, mine are not signed and dated by AY (Abigail Ybarra). I've been told that some earlier versions of the CP 60's strats had the pickups with her initials on them (although I know all it really means is that they were wound by a team she supervises, and her initials are just an endorsement, and not her actual work). Just curious as to the origins of this model guitar, and at what point Fender made changes to it, if any. Thanks!

The only CP60s thats have the AY signed pickups are the models made in 2006 and some early 2007 ( MN6 and some MN7 serials). In early 2007 the pickups ceased to have the AY signature and the steel trem block was changed to a full size zinc block. The pickups where always wound by a team, but approved by Abbigail. I have owned both and the pickups sound identical to the CS versions.
