I would suggest Lace sensors Hot Golds. All colors are great, and noiseless. But you want classic tone and clean muddy-less distortion. That's it...these are the best.

I have set of Lace Hot Gold's with the 13.2k bridge pup.

If you can I recommend having a go on a set before you buy as they are not everyone's cup 'o' tea. Personally I think they're a great all round pup, very versatile and probably the best noiseless pickups on the market. They also seen to work extremely well with effects.

By far my favourite pickups at the moment. :D

I have had GREAT success with the DiMarzio AREA series of pickups.
They're nice and quiet (no 60 cycle hum!!!) and totally 'Stratty'!!
All the quack and nice woody sound of the neck pickup is there!
I sacrifice nothing!!

And....they're reasonably priced!

Looking for a pickup that has "classic" strat sound with some punch and warm tones, but yet able to handle screaming overdrive without becoming too muddy.

That's exactly how I would describe the Don Mare Super Sports, sound amazing clean and unlike all the other pickups I've tried do not get muddy overdriven. The bridge is hot (7.3k) and sounds sweet with a tube screamer!
