Hi all, I'm new here.

I've just bought a new fender MIM strat.

Everything seems to be ok, but when I try to check the serial number on "the guitar dater project" I can't find my S/N.

The S/N is on the back of the neck's head. MZ9511486, does anyone know where can I check this info? the fender's web link to check the crafting date doesn't work.

Actually since it is an MIM guitar it could be a 2009 or a 2010 - MIM serial numbers seem to run mid-year to mid-year, so the MN9 would run from mid-2009 to mid-2010. The new serial numbers for MIM guitars will start with "MX10" (like the 2010 USA models now use "US10" as the starting prefix although some of the ones from the first half of 2010 only used a "10").

Fender is way behind in updating their "Product Dating" pages; they seem to only go up through 2005.
