Hi All,

I live in abroad and will buy a Fender American Stratocaster for my own next month. I will buy it from internet and ask a friend to bring it where I live via plane or air cargo.

The question is: because of the sudden climate changes, as the guitar will be in cargo area of the plane where the air temperature will be around 22 to 77F, should the neck be adjusted and any damage occur on the body even in its Molded Fender SKB Case?

It is gonna be a oversea trip: what precautions should be taken for such a transport?

Thanks

I tune down to D when flying a guitar. Also if you keep that grey cloth/material/foam wrapping. It's a heat/cold shield and helps a little. The Fender SKB case is a great case to fly a guitar in.

Make sure Customs can get into the case, they'll just smash it open if they can't open it normaly. Be prepared for it to be searched, so close but don't lock it. Unless it has them airport friendly locks.
