Hi, I just bought 2 days ago guitar, classic player '60s. This is my first electric guitar so I also bought an amp Roland Micro Cube. After playing a while I can hear a noise, and if I set tone knob on my amp on high noise get loud, as I'm turning tone knob down the noise also fades out. At first i thought that amp is broken or something but then i realized that when i just touch at least one metal part on my guitar (strings or tremolo) this noise also dissapears. Is there a problem in guitar or amp or maybe something else like cable ?

It's probably just the 60 cycle hum of your single coil pickups. Google it and learn more. Just a guess but good luck!!

Look at some of these links,

Thanks a lot. I think you're right, in fact I'm almost sure, but I read that this noise can be cancled by selecting 2 pickups. When i select them nothing happens. Is this normal?

Does it still happen in position 2 and 4? If so you might need to plug into another wall socket. Also find a socket that is not loaded with several electronic items all using the same socket. Wall socket must be a good grounded one. I know some of the links I gave you had suggested solutions. You can always buy a set of noiseless single coil or humbucker pickups.

The easiest solution is to just turn down the volume on your guitar when not playing and turn it up when you're ready to play. It won't be noticed when playing. YMMV

You could also try shielding if it really bugs ya.

If you don't want to try shielding or noiseless pups, this device works well :

Not sure, but I thought this was only true if the middle pickup is reverse wound? I think Fender started installing reverse-wound middle pups in stock guitars at some point, but if this is a 60's Classic Player it may not have this.
