Firstly I'd just want to clear something up ...I was a bit harsh calling all squire guitars $@!& .... I was painting all squires with the same brush ...sorry about that ...but I still gotta say the squires I've played were not great ( in my own opinion) ..but I've not played a classic vibe so I'll check that out ....I just gotta clear that up ...I need to make friends around here hahaha

Ok ...another question I have is this ...... As I said already ..I own a fender blacktop jaguar ( brand new ) and LOVE it ...it's my baby ( till I get a red strat that is =P ) ...my question is whats the quality of these guitars you all pointed out ( classic vibe squire , MIM strat and highway one ) compared to blacktop series guitars ? ......keep in mind that I dont want or need another HH guitar ...I'm just talking about quality

I have seen Blacktop Series guitars in the store and without playing one, I would say they are about on par with the MIM Standard.

hi again , the quality of my mim strat is excellent , the only problem is the last owner had it sitting on some crap stand and the neck is a bit bumpy at the bottom , i sorted most of this last night , but the strat isn't new so something to look out for if you go 2nd hand
finish wise i would give both the neck and body 10 /10
pups are a wee bit hot for me (ymmv)
tuners are great
bridge was ok (i swapped it out for a steel block one)
switches and pots are decent enough (i changed the switch)
feel is good
sound (i play through an old marshall jcm800) is great and growing on me
if you check a few out you'll find that theres no issues quality wise (unless you like to bastardise things like me ) cheers

on the pricy sid e of life try the new american deluxe 2010 it has a beautiful sleed body and neck along with what a modern guitar needs e.g s1 swiching n3 noiseless pickups and locking machine headds
i have one and i will never let go of it!!!

Just to through my 2 cents in the ring:

The Classic Vibes (as previously mentioned) are fantastically built instruments. The Candy Apple Red with Rosewood Fretboard I played (it was a 60s CV Strat, not the 50s) was soo freaking good I was so tempted to buy it there and then.

Try em out (and give the tele a shot while you're at it )
