I asked the same question when I discovered that the new American Standard Strat I purchased came with a pop-in tremolo block. The screw-in trem arm that came with it didn't work, of course. Got me a pop-in type trem arm and I was very happy ...

Ditto on the VG Deluxe I purchased 2 years ago. :?

Thanks. I had the CS do a Teambuilt guitar for me about 5 years ago which was built on a Clapton platform and I put SCN's in it. The pups were relatively new in the line at the time. (That guitar was eventually swapped out for my Gilmour) The SCN's are also in the VG Deluxe as well as the new "57VHR. I've taken the time to review the original assessment of that design which is on Lawrences's website as well as the patent application and drawings. Niki's had his CAR '57VHR well over three year now I suppose, and at my urging. He's been bonkers about it from the first. Don't know what it was that prompted the company to go to N3's on the new Deluxe's but I doubt it was much of an improvement. These guitars are killer. 8)

My sincerest congrats, ZZDoc! :o I as much as anyone have a real appreciation for that guitar. Sorry to hear about the mixup, especially after such a test of your patience.

May it bring you many years of happiness

Maybe he'll be hosting jams on the deck for us too. Ever see that "Live from Daryl's House' (Haulin' Oats) It might be "Live from Doc's House". :D

I think we will...but who knows, maybe he actually *likes* the cold and snowy weather in NYC?

Forecast is for a major snowstorm tonight as a matter of fact!

Lite'nin is actually further south than I am at present. The guitars are in NY with me and I have just scrubbed my day tomorrow and don't plan to leave the house for reasons already articulated by Mike. I've had my share of snow under my butt these past 50 years. Time to take the low road at these time. I don't know what this storm path bodes for him but the metro area is lookin at 6-18 inches. The storm has already snarled the Southeast. I am scheduled to fly south for the MKL weekend on Friday am early. I can only hope things will be in operation by then. :? Someday I look forward to your company joining the Forum members for lunch in Florida.

In the Northeast only.....about a four hour trip.....by road and ferry. As far as your coming to Florida, I and the others would certainly enjoy your company. I know Mike has people on the West coast and in consideration of a trip he made down there we once looked at the possibility, but the dates did not interface.

Your Deluxe came with a Standard Trem arm. My Standard came with a Deluxe Trem block. Not quite conservation of matter ... but close.

i havent tried the N3's yet.
but one thing for sure, the scns have really grown on me. i have them on my am delx V nk, and the dimarzio tone zn meshes well with scn's.
the hr57's scn's sound a little different than the ones in my dlx.
i believe its due to the wiring or trem block. what do you think? or do you hear a difference at all?
