THAT is my favorite, followed by Arctic White with a maple fretboard.

Can't believe no one mentioned the classic Sunburst!! My favorite color for strats by far, especially with rosewood neck and black pickguard. I also dig the unpainted look -- like the strat Bonnie Raitt plays -- looks like a dark walnut color with the grain visible.

Keep on pickin' -- what else is there?

Faded shell pink anyone?

Not something everyone can agree on, but I'm proud of her.

Lake Placid Blue with a mint pickguard and rosewood = perfect! You really can't go wrong, Fender's offered some nice colors over the years. Right behind LPB I'd say vintage white with a tortoise guard and maple.

In no particular order:

color/pguard/fretboard

Black/white/maple (lots o' maple)
Black/black/ebony (maple, tinted hdstk) black pup covers and knobs, of course
Vintage white(or a cream)/white/maple
Surf green/white(aged)/maple
Pewter/white pearl/maple and/or r'wd
Daphne blue/white/maple
Coral/parchment/maple
Shoreline gold/black/r'wd

I know it's a ridiculously long list but if I have to choose just one, I'd go for the surf green 'cause I'm making one right now that's almost complete. Some colors look good to me with rosewood, most don't, especially if the color is fairly intense. That cancels (again, for me) most of the darker blue, red, wine, and all lighter bright colors. Maple just suits my taste. Another color consideration that hasn't been mentioned is the nut. Sometimes a black Tusq looks better than bone or plastic; depends on neck and body colors. Of course, on one one of mine, the Tusq has made a HUGE difference in tuning stability. There is that. This is not a unique thread but it's fun (and current!).

That green would go well with black hardware.

My strat's original finish cracked and started getting "milky". So I had it sanded off and here's what was underneath. A butcher-block array which I decided to keep natural.
