same here. I dont have a Gibson but I have played one and thought it sounded pretty good.

tuning your guitar yourself is part of the deal. technology has to keep changing.Gibson or some other company had to try it.hats off to them. i love my L.P. and my STRATS. i just like the idea that keeping them in tune is my responsibility. computers already control just about everything we do. why our guitars too? just my opinion.

i love gibson i have a j45 but i have to agree i know someone with a robot SG and it basically broke and cost him a few hundred bucks to fix.

I just dont like the idea and for someone who never plays a show using an electric ( i am in a folk group) its really an indulgence i dont need. I can just get a studio les paul or sg for 800 buck and a 20 dollar tuner.

The way I see it, guitars are meant to have their sound quality based on the knowledge and proficiency of the player. Being able to tune a guitar is an important skill for all guitarists. What happens when the robot suddenly breaks or fails and you can't tune it? Also, why pay an extra $1000 for the robot when tuning isn't difficult and only takes a few seconds?

true, but you can get em used here sometimes around 700 bucks or so. my neighbor had me help her carry in a $3000 dollar painting. that was expensive... and I couldn't figure out what the painting even was
