So I take that as a dumb question? or no one knows? I thought this was the time of year they made price changes, and announced any changes? I am just not excited by any of the current color options on the American Standard, or Deluxes. I loved my Candy Tangerine but I sold that in 2005. Cool color, but it had a maple board and I prefer the rosewood. What I would really like to see are some green, orange, Hot Rod Red, or Dakota Red American Standards or Deluxes! There is a cool custom shop Strat out there with this really cool lime green color, but I cant bring myself to pay 2k plus on a Strat unless we are talking vintage! Guess I just wait and see...

I seen a Custom Shop on ebay not too long ago that was a really cool looking yellow color. It wasn't the vintage white yellow. It was something else. I love that color. But I don't know what it was.

I agree with ya though. Would be nice to have some different color options. :)

Here it is. I found it. I was wrong. It says it's blonde. But it looks nice and yellow. I wish they would offer this color. Check it out.

Hi lewddude: the second of the two options.

Stuff like this is usually announced at the NAMM, which is coming up 13 - 16 January. So not long to wait.

Cheers - C

Hey Ceri, I have a question for ya? I'm not familiar with NAMM. Is it televised? Or can I watch it on the internet or something?

NAMM - National Association of Music Merchants - is the big trade show. It has historically not been open to the public; just to the manufacturers and representatives of the stores. A lot of business gets done besides showing off the new models, with retailers planning their purchases for the year. It is not televised, but typically the manufacturers will have photos and reports on their websites. Often "civilians" will get passes from retailers (hey, if you've bought 10 CS Masterbuilt Fenders from a dealer over the years you could probably swing one of their passes) and often people from stores and those who get passes will post photos on the various forums. Also the "media" sites like Premier Guitar and Harmony Central will send reporters to the show and they post detailed reports.

I say "historically not open to the public" because they did have a "public day" during the Summer show in Nashville last year. I doubt they would do that for the Winter show as it is the bigger of the two - if a manufacturer or a retailer can only afford to attend one show it would be the Winter show in Anaheim.

PS: Are you lewddude from the mylespaul forums? You have a sweet ebony top R6. 8)

That be me! 8) and thanx! That R6 ebony top of mine is my absolute favorite Les Paul I have ever owned or played. Now I need my absolute favorite Strat! Every year I hope the put at least one cool color in, but every year I seem to be let down... If they don't come through this year, then I am gonna look for a used Candy Tangerine with a rosewood board, and try to steer clear of the S-1. It wasn't a bad thing on my 2005, but I did not use it...

I really wish Fender bringing back the locking vibrato option on the current American Deluxe HSS and offer a couple of "Stratoburst" finishes on the American Standard. I'm very displeased about their decision to drop the locking tremolo from the American Deluxe Series 4 years ago.

Hi peeps: only one thing to add to that fulsome answer. In past years Brad has posted daily coverage of the NAMM here on the Fender website, including commentary, photos and video. Cool stuff - worth watching out for!

Cheers - C

Seems like that would be a very yellowed Vintage White. My second favorite Fender color.

That blonde colour Strat looks more like butterscotch as lewddude said.My old bandmate has a 72 blonde Tele and even when new was much lighter than that Strat and it still is lighter after almost 40 years.

Looking forward to it. Been some boring colour combos lately, I'm hoping for something interesting to mix it up.

But if that Johnny Marr Jaguar rumour comes to fruition....
