Hello all!!
I recently got a new Fender Stratocaster but I can't find much about it on the internet :(
I was wondering if someone could help me out a little...I don't have a pic on the internet but theres one other on the internet I'll try to link.
http://www.mygear.com/items/view/32222/ ... S+AWESOME+

If that doesnt work, I have some points on what I know and what it looks like.
*2002 Made in Mexico
*Black Body with what looks like Factory made Flame Paint
*Possibly only 250-500 made
Again, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

How's it going? I did some research on a google search. And all I saw that guiatr being called is Stratocaster Special Edition which is clearly not a model name but a description. I did see a couple different places that claimed that 1000 were made. I do remember seeing something similar to that a few years back, and I'm thinking that it may have been a guitar built exclusively for one instrument retailer or another. Like GC, or SamAsh or something like that.
You could probably get some good info if you contact Fender customer service, they seem to be able and willing to give out detailed info if you provide them with the serial number. Good Luck! hth

Thank You!! I think I will try and e-mail Fender to see what they can say. Do you know what the websites were that you saw the 1000 made in the description?

Both were ads I ran across by people trying to sell their guitars ( I went through about 15 pages of google links looking) and that's what they both claimed in the description. One was on Craigslist and I'm not sure what site I found the other one on. I just ran a Google search for "Fender Stratocaster Flame". I had to sift through a bunch of stuff talking about Flame top and foto-flame MIJ guitars. There were very few places I saw that I could find even photos of your particular model, and nowhere that had actual info on them. All private sellers and their claims about the guitar. I do remember seeing that guitar in a catalog a few years back, just can't remember which one. I'd say on something rare like that one Fender support is probably the only way you'll be able to get any info. Leave an update here if they have any info for you, cuz now I'm curious.

I got on here specifically to find more info about this same guitar! This is the only other one I've seen. The serial number on mine is pretty far removed from the one on the auction site, but the flames are identical. The body appears to be one piece and the neck on mine is pretty highly figured. Here are a couple of crappy pics of mine, fingerprints and all. It's really hard to get a picture that does justice to the flames. I don't know what the body wood is, but the transparent flames show a maple-like 3D depth with some figure. If anyone has more info on these, I'd love to get a little bit more of the history.

Thanks! Have you checked out the pickups in yours? Next time I change strings I'm going to take the pickguard off and see if I can tell what's in it.

You might want to check! I opened mine up. Custom Shop stickers, cloth wire, nice! I guess I got lucky.

Why do you say 100? Just curious, because on my spec sheet it says 250 made.

See if you can spot the factory snafu in the picture I posted. The pickups are all wired correctly, but..... the middle pickup is in the bridge position! It has to be original. The pickguard screws still had plastic around them when I took it off.

I don't wanna take off my pickguard. I'm very new to this, and don't wanna risk it. My screws do still have plastic though!
