Anybody out there have one of these? I have a 2006 model that was modified with the enclosed 5-way switch.

I recently bought a 2004- '62 AVRI Strat in Surf Green. I was amazed that all the case candy was with it (except the strap).

There are still other models that Fender makes in Surf Green besides the 62 AVRI, which is now discontinued. Mine has a Rosewood fretboard. The Jeff Beck model which is very similar comes in Surf Green, but the green may be darker and the AVRI 57 comes in Surf Green, but only with an all Maple Neck. There was a custom shop version too, which I recently saw in a Guitar Center in Paramus NJ ( Check it out in the used gear @ Guitarcenter.com), which was so similar to mine and just in case someone wants a real beauty, is probably better. The Mexican model which was already brought up comes in surf green too, but I believe there are slight color differences between some of these models. The 62 reissue has no visible serial number except on the neck plate. You need to remove the neck to see for sure when it was made and many are afraid to do this. With the serial number on the neck plate you can write to Fender and they will tell you what body color is associated with that particular serial number. If you remove the neck look for color transfer from the body to the neck pocket, as this is a sure sign that the neck and body match. I was wondering if there were many people out there with the 62 in Surf green. Here is some info on it...

I got a 2009 62 reissue in surf green for christmas this year. Great sounding guitar and great color

@RicOkc

If you really want the strap so you can say you have all the case candy then go for it but honestly its probably the one of the cheapest and uncomfortable strap i have. I would go to El Dorado guitar straps, I have the plain old guitar strap and one it there is a thick piece of sheep skin.

(Sorry i forgot to quote you)

You got one of the last ones, thats pretty cool! As for the Vintage leather strap; I am not going to use it, just keep it with the Megiar's Wipe kit, case candy, cord and case which is all in a box in the basement. The guitar hangs on the wall.
