Hello there.

I have just traded my 2004 Highway 1 HSS rosewood board for an Olympic White SSS with a maple board. Great looking and sounding guitar although I'm still getting to know it.

Does anyone have any details of the spec? I have searched the Fender site for spec on discontinued models but with no success.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I think 1995 predates the Delta Tone system so it should have a TBX tone control for the middle and bridge pickups. To tell for sure the bottom tone control should have a "detent" that you can feel right about "5" on the knob; the upper tone control (the middle knob) is a normal tone for the neck pickup. The pickups are all the same "American Standard" single coils with flat polepieces, the bridge is the same as used from 1986 through 2007, it should have Schaller sealed tuners that are all the same (predates the staggered-height tuners), and it should have 2 string trees.

Again, I don't think the Delta Tone system came out until sometime in 1996 or maybe even 1997, but if the bottom tone knob does not have a "detent" at "5" it should then have a "detent" just past 10 that takes the tone control out of the circuit. That is the "Delta Tone" circuit and it would also have a slightly hotter bridge pickup. However, in the 1990s it would still be a flat polepiece pickup.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. Yes the bottom tone control has a notch at 5 so this would mean it has the TBX tone control> I thought initially this might be a problem with the pot!

Everything else is as you say.

I may upgrade the pickups in due course but I really like this guitar.

I bought a 1995 American Standard Strat 3 years ago and it's the best strat I have for tone and sustain and it's not heavey. I upgrade pickups for JS Moore Pickups, Canadian made. And it's the cheapest one , I was very lucky; $250. Yes, original American Standard

my 2 others are American made Strat Deluxe 1999 and a 1980 Strat.
