That body could have been from an American Special Strat, the come in 3 colour sunburst and have the vintage trem.

Would mean the pickguard/pickups have been changed and that neck definitely isn't the original for the body.

Also as others have said, the tuners are wrong and the neck plate is very wrong.

That the guy pulled the Ad says it all.

If you look closely around the tuners in this photo, you can see that they,ve been changed. you can see the indention in the wood around the pegs.

I had already noticed it, but for some stupid reason I thought it was made by factory intentionally, like some artistic stuff. Well, it was a stupid thought. It was after your post that I realized that those indentions were actually a proof of a wrong replacement.

It's really great to read all these posts and see the pictures again. It's like being very myopic and putting the glasses on.

Exactly. Anything but books imported from North America, Europe and Asia is taxed on 60% of "product price + shipping price". There is an additional tax on "product price + shipping + tariff". The average of this tax is 18%.

Here is an example:

American Standard - U$ 1000.00
Shipping to Brazil - U$ 200.00

1200 + 720 (tariff) = 1920

1920 + 345.60 (the additional tax I talked about) = 2.265.60 !!!

Ps: I said the guitar can be found at local stores for U$2800.00. Don't think the dealers are greedy, they are taxed on 27% of their profits...

That's a good guess.

I don't know how those "pickup balls" are called, but that's the only difference I can see from one model to another.

What's the difference in the pickguard?
