So I changed my strings for the first time today on my new american deluxe., and now the bridge is pulled back a little more, and the saddles are not paralell but pointed slightly(very) up. The back of the trem is not touching the guitar. Will this cause any negative affects if i use these strings till I get a new set(fender bullets again i guess) I really do not want to do or try any tech work, cause I do not want to mess with or mess up my guitar. thx 4 any help.

if you dont want to do a set up,
go back to 9s. thats what american deluxe comes with.
the reason the raised up like that, is because string tension has to match spring tension.
you probably went to 10s on string gauges, right?

I wanna try some elixirs or something else, but I don't want the same thing to happen so I guess I just need to get some fender bullets, has anybody switched from bullets to another brand and it hasn't changed the bridge height?

and i guess I didn't describe it right. I think there is less tension, not more. The saddles are points up at a slight angle toward the pickups, but there is still a gap between the body and the bottom back end of the bridge.

So are you saying the bridge is more flush with the body now, or floating higher?? :? Whichever it is all you need to do is remove the trem back cover and adjust the claw, screw it in to bring the bridge back down or loosen it to bring it back up, very simple adjustment.

We posted this for you in your post the other day...

it is now more flush, but what i am worried about, is if i change string types again will this readjustment adversely affect the instrument? Is it ok to readjust that much?

Well if you plan to change string gauge often then yes you will need to readjust bridge height, but you shouldn't have to if using the same gauge, but different string brands might have different tension.

yeah, i plan on switching to elixir 9's, some company that sells singles as well as sets. I shouldn't have switched from fender bullets though. I got the bridge set, but now I have buzzing and the intones are a little off. Simple adjustment ay?

You raised the bridge and now you have buzzing?? Does it happen with open strings or when you fret?

D string buzzes when open, the rest of the bass string buzz when fretted. My guitar was setup perfect, and now I got this and the intones are 4 sure off :(.
Oh well I wanted to get a new pickguard with the volume know moved out of the way, so i needed to pay a tech to do that. I won't need to have any routing done for that will I? Might as well throw in a setup.

Also, any suggestions for a brand of string to switch to and stick with? What is everyone's opinion on coated strings?

The Strat setup guide is pretty easy to follow, but if you're not comfortable making theses adjustments then a proper setup is needed.

If you have a Dlx I'd stick with the Fender Bullets or Super Bullets, they work great with that trem block. That's what I've been using on my Dlx and I'm very happy with 'em! It was the first time I tried these Fender strings, when I got the Dlx, been using D'Addario's for 20+ years.

I can do, it I just did not want to mess with a perfect setup, and when i thought all i was going to do was set the trem height, I now have to get the intones, action, and maybe the neck.

I could have just taken off a set of strings and put on a new one. Which seems easier?

I am probably gonna stick with the bullets. After I readjust all this stuff.

Sorry if my advice ruined your setup  making these minor changes shouldn't cause all these headaches... but for me I can easily do some fine tuning on my own if needed. But a good setup by someone who knows what he's doing is always a good idea.
