I bought a American Vintage 1957 Commemorative Stratocaster. The neck and fret board is a little sticky/tacky. I looking for a safe product to clean or polish it ? Any suggestions ?

Sounds to me like the finish has not yet finished curing. Let the guitar set out in the air for about 7 days. Then see if it is any better.

I have had this happen to several guitars and letting it sit out did the trick.

Thanks Chet, I bought it the day after Thanksgiving and have kept in in the case. I will give it a try.

Nitro necks can be a bit sticky till they fully cure. It's because the finish grabs onto your hand grunge. Just clean the neck when it's sticky and it's fine again. Wiping it down once and while, while your playing, helps.

I've found this to be the best method, just wipe it down regularly with a dry clean cloth or papertowel, it usually helps me when I run into sticky/tacky feeling neck. this wont help though if your finish hasn't fully cured.

My v-neck was a little sticky for a few days after buying it new. This is common and will go away after playing a while, and it will be smooth as butter...
