Had mine for 3 weeks now.Sienna Sunburst/rosewood.Very nice guitar. The pickups are good, but I dropped in a red tortoise shell pickgaurd with Duncan Alnico II Pro's,CTS pots,5-way,bridge/middle on the last pot and a Kimber .047 cap. It's being setup right now for 11's.I guess I got lucky(I ordered it online)because it weighs in at 7 Lbs.I love the neck profile and finish.

Mine showed up at the door about 1 week ago. Very nice package for the money. I got the black with maple neck and it rocks. The finish on the neck makes it look really good. Plays great with low action. I got the Fender G-Dec Amp with it and it's a great combo for at home.

Finally got used the Silver Bullet strings. First strat and I'm thinking I might sell my LP and DOT.

are the pickups in your american standard stratocaster HSS(the black rosewood one above) noiseless. does is sound amazing. im planning on getting one soon. what amp do u use? and effects? please tell me . answer me soon!

The pups are Custom-Staggered Tex-Mex Single-Coil Strat Pickups (Neck and Middle),
1 Fender Diamondback Humbucking Pickup (Bridge)

They sound phenomenal. I use mostly Orange amps. I've been using an Orange Tiny Terror and 1x12 cab the most lately, and this Strat rocks through it......big time. LOVE IT!

Brought home a Black / Maple / SSS yesterday.

Still honeymooning, but had to go Black.

I'll probably wind up putting a black PG on to complete the package.

Really fine - the rosewood looks to be very dark as well... sweet! I like the tint on the neck too... looks perfect!

Hey, what happened to you photo?

Man...I really like that double humbucker in the bridge position. This is just my opinion, but that should have been made standard years ago...

(It makes me...almost wish I didn't buy my HSS a few weeks ago!)

Hi All,
Well here she is and I must say, Fender nailed it!!!! WOW!!! I have always been a tele guy, but I thought it was time to expand my collection, so this is my first strat and am I soooo pleased. I opened the case (not knowing exactly what to expect), well let me tell you, she is a thing of beauty. The craftmanship is superb, the tinted neck and finish is of the highest quality, pictures do not do it justice. However, the real test came shortly after checking the exterior. I wamed up the blonde blues jr. and my 65 twin reverb.....the newly designed american pickups are OUTSTANDING, I ordered a set of texas special pups to replace the stock ones, needless to say, I am returning those today! This guitar sings 8) I really cannot say enough about it, if you can afford one - get one! You will not be disappointed.

I was also going to ask a hypothetical question to folks that I know collect these guitars.

If Fender DID make double humbuckers standard in their Fenders and even Squires, what would this do to the older models that have the single coils in the bridge position in terms of sales? And, how would this effect the sale of the Telecasters?

For quite a few years now, strats have been routed for HSH so it should be a fairly easy mod.

Has anyone seen a Candy Cola in Maple in a store yet? All everyone seems to have are the Sunbursts and Black and White. Is there a good online place to buy from besides Guitar Center?
Thanks!

Well, I'm a newbie here and I just bought my first Strat four days ago: a 2008 American Standard. It's got a maple fretboard and it's Blizzard Pearl, one of the new colors. Along with being absolutely drop dead gorgeous, the tones are phenomenal, I can't dial in a bad tone. It plays so easy, almost too easy.

I bought it to complement my '52 Tele reissue, and my pre-Fender Gretsch 6120. The only changes I'm thinking of making are a) the strings (I use Snake Oil 010 nickels on my Tele, I'll probably go for the same on the Strat) and b) I may "pimp" it up with gold hardware in the future. I had played a Mary Kay reissue and I thought it looked pretty cool, but was way out of my budget and didn't sound anywhere near as good as the American standard.

Ya, I'm jealous. I just can't justify another strat.
