Get realplayer watch that vid I linked. All the info on trem setup is in that. Sorry the owner won't let me upload it to youtube.

All the info you need is in there. Trem float plays no part in tuning stability. It's all at the headstock.

" Finally I see"

As to perhaps why Mr. nikininja has not as of yet replied to one of my posts, still well celebrating the New Year I see, as well as perhaps still snowed in :?:
I missed the New Year last night as having a bit of a tif with the missus ( my cretin self to blame) and therefore slept right thru (on the couch I might add  )

Oh... Ohh...!! Did the whole world go to Hell in a Handbasket while I slept thru the New Year, I have noticed the sun is absent today. (MORBID)

Sorry... I did not include the image critical to my TNC comment

hey,
for what it's worth, I used to have tuning problems with my MIM strat, even without using the bar. I started doing a "knot" on the strings (haven't got locking tuners) like this:
http://www.fretnotguitarrepair.com/repair/acoustic-guitar/string-changing.php
AND put some vaseline on the bridge (on contact points with the strings), did wonders for me, even when I play with the whammy!
hope it helps

yep, found it in the setup guide. could only find the perfumed one, my strat smells so good when I change the strings that I feel like making out with her :)

Not used vaseline on the bridge myself, but why not.. When setting up trem systems, friction is your enemy.

I find that even a well cut nut can be where most of the friction problems are. I lube this with pencil lead myself. If you have funds and a good tech, get a new nut made from something like teflon or (my personal fave) Tusque. Both are nice and slippery.

And while you're vaselining the bridge, save some for the underside of your string trees. This is another major potential friction area. I use chap stick myself, for that minty fresh Strat smell..
