I've been really liking the idea of the new blacktop strats. While I won't be purchasing one, the idea of putting together a loaded pickguard that I can swap on my guitar sounds like a good idea. Anyone thought about trying that or have done that? All I'd need to do is make a quick connect for the input jack and the ground. I know my strat is routed for humbuckers. Let me know if anyone else has gone that far.

Not really familiar with Blacktops... but I have been swapping loaded pickguards lately while testing some new pups.

ACME sells prewired assembly and you can select their "solderless option"

That's just about what I'm looking forward. I need to be clear though, the blacktop series is nothing more than a H/H strat with a five way tap switch. My thought was the ability to go back and forth between SSS and HH strats.

I see... well that solderless option might be the way to go then, it sure beats having to solder everytime you want to swap pickguards! But it does cost a few $$...

Sounds like a trip to Radio Shack for quick connect components.

You guess it. A little shrink tubing wouldn't hurt either...
