I'm sure this is old news to a lot of you since it came out in 2004, but I got a copy of The Stratocaster Chronicles today, and man this is a good read. I've read about 80 pages so far and the book is riveting. Any Strat guys out there need to own this book, it really tells the history of how the Strat came to be from the beginning. The pictures are amazing, and it really is a nice package printed on beautiful heavy paper. I'll probably read it again as soon as I'm finished, and many more times for years to come.

If you're a fan of Fender amps, you'll find Wheeler's companion volume "The Soul Of Tone" just as entertaining and useful as well.

Yup. Both books are very good with the amp book including CDs so you can hear the amps in play.

Just ordered this one with some Christmas money I got:
"Six Decades of the Fender Telecaster: The Story of the World's First Solidbody Electric Guitar"
