This guy is asking $200,000.00 for this guitar. It's number 1 of 150 but still. Is this not rediculously too much money for this guitar.

I wonder with it being #1, how much more it will be worth than the rest of 'em. I'm speaking in terms of 40yrs from now. And I wonder which ones being made today and over the last 15 to 20 yrs will go up substantially in value.

On an American standard? The increase in price because of a one off neck plate may just pay for a set of strings and a plectrum in 30 years time.

No where does he say or provide proof that it is actually the first out of 150 made. He only says it is "1 of 150". It could actually be the 149th one made. The wording makes a diffeence.

It will increase in value in 40 years as much as a current model Honda Civic will.

There may be only 150 of this particular color made, but it is still just an American Standard of which how many thousands (hundreds of thousands?) have been made. Nothing special about it.

A friend of mine in college wanted to buy two 1975 Ford Granadas, one to drive and one to keep as an "investment". Guess how that turned out?

I remember a local car dealer whose TV adds "proved" he was insane. He would scream and pound on the hoods and was down-right scary. Yet his adds and his business ran for at least a decade. Somehow, this type of advertising appeals to some type of consumer.
