No, Fender, as a company had their 50th anniversary was in 1996. 1946 being the first year they produced anything, a amplifier.
2004 was the 50th anniversary of the stratocaster. 1954 being the first year it was produced.

Now there's a conservative point of view. Some might say that too much is enough.

This is exclusively an object des arte. 8) I'm biding my time waiting to see if our esteemed colleague in Paris will have any designs on it.

I just realized my post wasn't clear, I was talking about the guitar from the OP and not Prince's guitar

See what we really need to put this thread back in perspective is a picture of a nice master built goldleaf Clapton strat.

*hint hint*

We know who has one of those, but this guitar that Shishikov just finished goes beyond that. 8)

It's a bit heavy, and there's some rough edges, but hey when the lights hit it the crowd goes nuts... before they go blind. 8)
And you could use it to burn ants on the sidewalk.

Seriously... I really dig that Prince guitar.

Hi Papa-J: good question. Answer, this much...?

That's a Strat built by Yuri Shishkov in the Fender Custom Shop for Prince (the artist formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince), after he had a dream in which he saw himself playing such a guitar. It is fully gold leafed from the tip of the headstock to the tail button and all the metal parts are gold.

Is that too much?

Cheers - C

I'm awaiting a post response from King Midas
Isn't (wasn't he one of Prince's ancestors ):?: :?:
