So, I am looking at buying a used American Deluxe of American Standard Strat and I am wondering how I can tell that it is actually all orginal (at least body and neck) and that it is all USA? Any help would be most appreciated.

If it has American anywhere in it's model designation the body and neck should be all US made in the California plant as for the electrical components there may be some that are sourced outside the US.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear. How can I tell whehter the body and neck are original? If I am buying what is supposed to be an American Strat I want to be sure I am getting what I paid for. What markings will be present on the body to distinguish it and does it have any markings which show it corresponds to the serial number on the neck?

Markings on the body seem to be the hardest to get IMO, because they don't always show threw. Here is my american neck where it goes into the body cavity.

The body cavity has the same markings, but there not always legible from wear or paint.

The headstock will say Made in U.S.A and if you send the serial number to fender customer relations they will tell you where and when it was made, but that only proves the neck is American. I'll leave someone else answer how you know the body is, cause im not 100% sure myself on it.



Here is the neck and body cavity of my 1979 All American Stratocaster, again not much to work with. (there is a serial number on the back of the pickguard though)

My 79-81 Strat doesn't have a ID# on its body. Only the neck.
