I think I read somewhere that the Strat was designed totally around input from professional players. Every little conour, placement of the controls, etc...

Personally, I don't think shredding should even be factored in to the equasion, and shredders should not be allowed to play Strats...LOL

Music is about the quality of each note... not how many notes per second that can be played.

To me, shredding = repedative poo poo...:)

And yet the type of palm muting I'm referring to regarding myself is pertaining to Reggae music. :D

Now, Reggea I Like... :) .

It gives me a nice feeling, and I don't even smoke weed or anything.

But seriously, If someone wants to alter their instrument in lue of adjusting their technique, they have every right to do so. I just think the Strat is perfect as is.

I had trouble hitting the selector switch while strumming when I first started playing a Strat, but I adjusted my technique a little, and within a very short period of time, it wasn't a problem any more. I play some pretty fast rhythm's too in some of my songs.

I had that problem, too; I sort of 'trained' my hand to curl around in such a way, but it sure doesn't look too cool - kinda like a withered hand or something!
