Here's a quick test I just did, wanna get your opinion on which Strat sounds best in your opinion and why... I don't really know how to play this song and my rhythm playing really sucks so excuse the mess :) I just thought it was a good test for the bridge+middle pickups.

Three samples:

Amp and recording setup were the same for all three Strats. I will reveal what's what after some of you hear 'em ;)

Enjoy!

I thought 1 was weak and 3 was a lttle dar/muddy for my taste.

2 was my favorite, although a little bright for a neck/middle but not that bad, because of the articulation of each not.

I actually like Strat #1. #2 sounded too bright for my tastes. #3 sounded a little like it had a little too much bottom end and it sounded like it wanted to break up the amp quicker than the other 2.

White Stripes? Sounded like Dire Straits to me - Sultans of Swing.

Not yet :P

No idea what White Stripes is... I must be getting old, I never thought some might not even know Sultans of Swing

I'm gonna list the 3 Strats, the one that matches which Strat is which gets a brand new Strat! *

MIM Classic 60s + Fralin Blues Specials
MIA Deluxe + Don Mare Super Sports
79 Strat + CS 69

Good luck!

crap i posted after the guitar list but anyway, i like 2 the best, then 1, then 3

It will be hard cause it's more based on pick-ups rather then year but I will say;

MIM Classic 60s + Fralin Blues Specials is number 3
MIA Deluxe + Don Mare Super Sports is number 1
79 Strat + CS 69 is number 2
am i right? lol I know number two sounds similar to my 79 strat

Hmmm I don't know but I thought I might buy some CS 69's tomorrow...any hints? please?

I will guess that the CS 69's are #1.
Don Mare super sports #2.
Fralin Blues #3.
