I heard an EJ Strat played live at a concert a couple months ago by one of my friends in a Christian rock band- Wavorly.... I didn't know what model it was at first but it was literally the best sounding guitar I ever heard- it was sexy sounding
I talked to him and asked him what model it was he told me he just got it and it was the EJ model.....

I drool now when I think about it- You truely got a world class jem on your hands man.... an heirloom

It seems that the EJ Strats are Eric Johnson's "go to" Strats.

In a new interview in Guitar World magazine (with Kings of Leon on the cover), Eric Johnson says that the only vintage guitars he has are a 1957 Strat and a '60s ES-335.

That really surprised me. He said that he sold his "really nice" 1954 Strat (one that he had a long time and was pictured with a lot over the years). He did say that he was wanting and looking for a 1954 Strat (it sounded like sellers remorse). Reading all this stuff made me wonder if needed the money he got by selling his vintage Strats ... hmmmm.
