i posted a while ago about this and i even stuck new pups into the old 89 mil strat , when i picked up my mim strat last week i had a peek under the hood and noticed the shielding on the pick guard , hmmm i thought , the one on my strat is really old and has no shielding , so i was sitting last night listening to rory gallagher and i said bugger it , so i stripped the guard off the strat removed the pots an switch and stuck a bit of tin foil onto the guard , rebuilt the strat and now it's perfect , no pops, crackles or scratchy noises at all now i can really hear the new iron gear texas loco pups hth someone who might be having the same problem , cheers
