A rare colour Strat can be worth considerably more than a sunburst, for example a '63 sunbust Start would be worth between $13,000 and $16,000 while a common colour would be $28,000-$35,000 while a rare colour would be from $35,000-$45,000.These prices come from the 2011 Vintage Guitar Magazine price list so they are made with consultation with the likes of George Gruhn and Norman's Rare Guitars.

Why not? It's good enough for Hank Marvin, can't you tell?

When Billy Gobbon's band The Moving Sidewalks opened for Jimi Hendrix back in the late 60s Jimi was so impressed with Billy's playing that he gave him a Shell Pink Strat. If Shell Pink is good enough for these guitar greats it's certainly good enough for me.

Thank you, straycat. Shes a '96 John Page era 1957 Stratocaster in Shell Pink. Custom 50's pickups (not to be confused with CS Fat 50's) with C-Shape maple neck.

I've read that mid-90's Custom Shop models were really a sort of 'Golden Age' for strats. Not sure if there's any truth to that, but I can tell you that it's the best-playing (and sounding) guitar that I've ever owned.

Also, if you don't know who John Page is - he's the fellow responsible for restoring Buddy Holly's legendary 1958 stratocaster.
