Hello,
I've just bought a brand new American Standard Stratocaster (2010) which I am particularly proud.
The only problem I have is the serial number which seems rather strange: US10101655. What is strange is that searching the web, this serial number is not mentioned anywhere. So is a fake Fender guitar, Fender or did they forget to put these new references to date on the net. Please anyone knows something about this issue ?

The serial number is right. The first 10 being 2010. Fenders serial numbering system is always behind. Not to worry........Mike

Fender is pretty far behind in updated that "Product Dating" page; it hasn't been updated since 2005.

They have actually used 2 different serial number styles this year; the first version just had a "10" at the start, so it would read "10XXXXXX". Unfortunately the font they chose for the "10" was pretty close to the font of the other 6 digits. Around April/May it was changed to the "US10" prefix like the OP's guitar. Also, the "US10" is more visably bolded compared to the other 6 digits.
