Hello all! new here!

Just wondering if the standard american strat 08 has room for a humbucker on the bridge aslong as i change the scratchplate to an H/S/S? infact, if the neck had room for a humbucker, i'd get a neck humbucker too.

Ive had hot rails and a fastrack2 (in the bridge) for about 2 years now but i really miss the sound of a full humbucking pickup (there really is a difference to my ear anyway)

I got some expert to fit my pickups originally so i don't know what it's like under the scratchplate, and i'm not sure i wanna take it off myself incase i wreck my guitars setup ( I can't set up myself, got someone to do it )

Hi.

Yes the body on the 2008 American Standard Strat is routed for H-S-H, so you could put a full-sized humbucker in both the neck and bridge position along with a single-coil size pickup in the middle position if you wanted (subject to using the correct scratchplate).

And I agree, there is a discernible difference in sound between a full sized and a single coil sized humbucker.
