It's the only Fender production guitar with a quarter-sawn neck, correct? People rant and rave about the necks. I prefer a more pronounced V, like the '57 RI's.

It's the best production guitar, Very close to the custom shop guitars. Very good quality.

I've had my EJ for close to two years now and just keep loving it more. It's the finest electric guitar I've ever played and that's in almost 40 years of playing. I still get blown away by the tone. It's the most Fender-y strat I've ever played or heard. Custom Shop designed pickups, damn near custom shop quality. If Gibson was selling a Les Paul model this good they'd be charging over $4,000 (street not MSRP) for it. So yeah, it's kinda expensive, but you can't beat the value for quality.

To me it's the finest Stratocaster ever made. Period.

Maybe you can find one cheaper on the used market. Believe it or not, there's actually some people who don't like the guitar.

Truly, I don't have yet enough money to buy EJ Strat, but for now I think that my 19 year old Fender Strat isn't worse :D And the truth is, that You can play on the cheapest guitar better, than on the most expensive. It depends from ourselves. Just Me and My guitar... My Fender :P

I like mine, love the neck, sounds great too, in spite of my playing, I can't say enough about that thin finish, looks like it's starting to age very nicely. I don't care too much for the tremelo arm, will probably replace, (suggestions???) want something with less bend. I recommend if you can afford it. Now if I could only play Cliffs of Dover like EJ.

Hi Captain Dan,
I think it's a super nice strat with super lousy pickguard.
Only an opinion.

That's what I hear! And some of them seem to need string trees.

But ... a Strat is a Strat is a Strat ...

I've had no problem with a string tree issue. I've had mine new since they came out and it is still my #1 strat. That really says alot when I have a NOS 60, '62 Ri, '00 AM, '99 AM, '57 Thin Skin, '62 Thin Skin, '51 NOS , SRV, Nocaster, and 2 Highway One Teles.

I will say that the Nocaster is right up there with it if not better but I do tend to grab the EJ more. But the Nocaster and EJ are just freaking rediculous instruments. Love them both to death.

I'm by far a huge EJ fan and try to mimic his style (I certainly don't have my own and never will) - but besides that you have to play it. I don't really care for it sadly. The Neck finish is rather sticky as reports shown - but I believe that ages away in use and cleaning. The V-neck is not the feel I like, since I'm used to playing a C-Shape. The V is just to think on the low frets. I move better on the C. You have to go to a center and play EVERY strat available to know what you want.

The Tone is EJ all the way - I noticed the barrels on the B/e string pickups are raised higher which pounds the sound out and eh - it's rock'n but not my taste... Before I buy I'm going to play it again cuz after a while it grew on me.

I don't know....2 years and no string tree needed and the pickguard is perfect. At least thats my experience.
