I regret not buying a Strat XII when they were in recent production. They are no longer listed and I wonder when they may become available in the future. Anyone here have one and what is you experience with it.

Thanks, as much as I like Japanese women, I do not buy guitars off of EBAY. Too much fraud.

There's a very reputable site called Guitars Japan that deals in Japanese made Fenders and other great Japanese makers such as Burney,Edwards,Ibanez etc and guitars from the famous Fuji Gen factory. They ship world wide and are completely above board with great prices and a huge selection. You should have no trouble finding a Strat XII there www.guitarsjapan.com

I own this MIJ Strat 12-string......

Image

It's an '05 model that I purchased off of Ebay about three years ago. The guitar is pretty straightforward -- well built and well finished. Everything under the hood is crap though......cheesy ceramic pickups, smurf-sized pots, POS switch and wiring.

I gutted it and installed a US-spec wiring kit from Angela Instruments, a full-size aluminum pickguard shield, and a set of Custom Shop '69 pickups. It's not exactly a Ric 330 with "toasters" but it does the Tom Petty / Roger McGuinn jangle quite convincingly.

HTH

Arjay

Beautiful colour Arjay, looks about the same shade as my Candy Apple blue '65 Mustang. I can imagine that she sounds sweet with the upgrades.BTW my Vox Phantom XII sounds very Strat-like with it's Fender clone single coils, she has that jangle too and sounds great with 2 pups engaged.

Portland Music had one the last time I was down to there downtown store, you might give them a call, It was a sunbrust model.

They are a Fender dealer and they do ship.
