My strings hit the frets around the 11th.
Theyre new strings, but I cant recall if my old ones had the same problem... maybe I just didnt notice back then.

Anyway, should I raise my bridge saddles?

or what else?

Maybe its because my new strings are thinner, so theyre more bendable and thus move more when I hit them (and thus hit the fret)

Ive raised my bridge saddles the most I can, but 4 strings are still rattling when i pull them.

Could it be the change to a lighter gauge thats causin this?

You need to check your set up.

If you can't do it, you'll want to take it to a pro.

Good luck.

I'll repeat what others have said.

Your guitar needs a complete setup! If you can not do it, have it done by a professional.

I think so, I bought the guitar like 3 months ago.

A proof of payment is all it takes right?

or should I have a special document?

That should be enough. If they won't fix it up for free, ask them for a discount!

Do you know anyone who's played guitars longer than you who'd be willing to show you how to do a set-up? The manual that came with the guitar does a pretty good job of explaining things.

Dont really know anyone.

And I dont have a manual, but I checked on the website.
Ive raised the bridge saddle as much as I could, but the rattling wont disappear.

Maybe I should do the opposite of shimming?
Like shimming, but put the paper further away from the body so that the neck wil bend for ward a little?

Dude, don't keep messing with it. You don't seem to really know what you're doing yet and that's cool. If you've got proof of purchase just call them and tell them your problem. Don't risk messing it up more or voiding your warranty. It could be as simple as needing a new nut or adding a bit more relief to the neck. If you want a guitar to learn how to do setups, get a used MIM for $100. Since your axe is practically new and under warranty you should take it in for warranty repair.
