Just like Andybighair, I'm the contented owner of a MIM CP '60s. I love the feel of the neck, narrower at the nut than the Am Std's (42mm as compared to 42.8mm) & quite chunky. Don't get me wrong, I still love my Am Std, but the CP '60s is really good value- just needs some attention to the fret-ends, and a bit of DIY hand-rolling on the board.

I was wondering though, are the CP 50s & 60s are designed to be MIM 'versions' of the American Vintage reissue 57 & 62 respectively?

If so, does the the CP '60s have a neck like either the '62 RI or the '62 HR? Dreaming about a 62' vintage hot rod, in the distant future and was wondering if the neck is similar to the CP 60s?

I've heard nothing but praise about the 62 HR, 'gassing hard' !!

I'm afraid I haven't had a go on a '62 RI or the HR so can't comment on that. Probably best to pop down to your local and have at it with a 62 HR! Lets us know how that goes.

I never realized that the CP60's Nut was narrower that the AM standard. Interesting!

I don't know about the CP '60s,but my '62 HR neck is quite a bit "chunkier" than an American Standard,at least the AS guitars that I own.
The '62 fits my hands perfectly,and I think it's the best all around Strat I've ever had,and that includes an original '65 Sonic Blue,like I've mentioned before.
But ymmv,like Andy said,give them a try in person if you can,then you'll know for sure.

I've played both before,
well I have a cp60s.

And the hr 62 has a much chunkier neck, not by alot, but
substantial enough to notice the difference.
