Wondering if anyone can help. I'm trying to identify a guitar my dad was given. Its been passed around a bit now, some friends of ours gave it to him and they got it from someone who found it lying in an old car. I'd say its been stolen at some point because the serial number has been scratched off. So thats why I cant date it.
Its a Fender Strat USA, its green, I think Sherwood Green? Its pretty messed up, missing two tuning knobs, and one of the Saddles is gone too.

dont know if it will help but the pots have 013446-250k-A-R871 on them.

Can anyone help me find out what year it is? If you need pics of a certain thing I can post them

Thanks

My standard smart@ss answer would be to say from the pictures you posted it looks like a.......?

But, since you did ask what type of pictures I will be polite here.
Full front and back, close up of the headstock front and back.
If you could remove the neck, the end of the neck and the bottom where the screws go. the pocket in the body where the neck mounts and if you could remove the pick guard and show the bottom side of the pick-ups and the body where the pick-up sit, that should about cover it.

That will show us enough to know it's a fake or not and what year it was made in.

Looks like a late 80's early 90's American Standard, but the bridge is wrong. It should be a 2 point tremolo instead of a 6. But it has the swimming pool route, right tuners, and right string trees for an american standard. Is there a date stamped at the heel of the neck? That's a nice color, that guitar would look great restored.

Okay, nice pictures.
Some here have noted the trem is wrong, it will need a nut install as well along with a new set of tuners.
After that a good cleaning a set up and she should play.

The only concern i see is that someone removed the serial number, this is usually a sure sign it was stolen at some point in it life.
