Hey guys, I need some recommendations on which single coil pup I should get for my SSS American Standard Strat. I use a Peavey 6505 with a Mesa Recto 2x12 cab (with Celestion V30s) and usually play progressive rock, and progressive metal. I use my strat strictly for clean and slightly overdriven tones, as I don't like how my guitars with EMG active pickups sound clean. I'm thinking of replacing the bridge pickup on my strat since I only use the neck pickup, and I want to get the most beefy tone possible out of my SSS strat. I was thinking about getting "the Sinner" from Bare Knuckle pickups, but I'm not sure...

Any recommendations or opinions on the Sinner? Thanks!

Very pleased with my BareKnuckle Sultans. If Tim Mills says it does XYZ, it does XYZ.
It's always a gamble buying pickups untested. I rang him up and he questioned me about what I wanted for my sound, gave me a price a couple of days later (3 I think) they landed. Couldn't be happier with em.

If you want to experamint, you could try and re-magnetize the pickup.

I took an old set of Fender Tex-Mex pickups (alnico 5) and ran them through some very powerfull ferrite/ceramic magnets untill the pickups had a stronger magnet pull. After magnetizing, the pickups sounded much crunchier and clearer and a little bit louder. But I had to lower the pickups due to the strong magnetic pull.

Caution, don't do this on a pickup that's not expendable. I don't know if the effects of the strong magnet pull are reversable, or if this has any negative long term effects.
