Just made a video on youtube messing around with my rig...i dont know about some of the other guys on the forum but it seems the general majority don't like the stock pups in the highway 1...but i like em!

What year/pups are your Strat? (alnico 3)?

As the proud owner of 8(!!!??!) Highway One Strat HSS's, I wanted "more" from my guitars.
I, personally found the stock pups to be weak and anemic...AND....here we are in the year 2010...STILL plagued by the age old problem of 60 cycle hum inherent in standard single coil pickups. Playing the dumps that I do...I couldn't have that!
( I won't even get to my issues with the crappy humbucker!!)
I also swapped the god-awful Pings for Fender/Schaller locking tuners...thankfully a drop in replacement.
I've replaced the single coil pups with a combination of the DiMarzio Area series (I have ALL of them in different combos) and I believe 2 of them have Fender Vintage noiseless.
The humbuckers are a combo of Gibson and Dimarzio 36th Anniv. P.A.F.'s.
The guitars themselves are wonderful, toneful, well made pieces of wood; they just needed 'tweaking' to suit me!

Mine is a 2009 model with the RW/RP middle and has the alnico 3's...i put on a new warmoth neck (boat contour) and put in a callaham trem block, saddles and trem screws other then that its stock

I agree. I recently bought the highway one and i think the stock pu's are great. I wa planing on getting CS69 but i think these r fine.

yea i like em and think i may be in trouble in that i told my wife i wanted some CS fat 50's...dont really think i can go wrong with those anyway
