Hey all,

I was thinking about adding a pickguard to my recently acquired Aerodyne Strat. I just think they look cooler with them. Does anyone know if I can use a standard Stratocaster pickguard?

If you´re up to dig some holes on your aerodyne, yes you could do it. But if I had and Aerodyne I wouldnt drill it just for a pickguard. Post a picture of her so we can understand why you want to do it. Cheers! 8)

Thing is... it's got dings... a few of them and some light scratches. If it was mint I would agree hands-down.

Other thing is... I've been a Les Paul guy for years, have a beautiful (well worn) black '83 Studio which is modded with active Bartolini humbucker, Grover tuners and chrome pickguard. I want to see how well I can match the look of this beauty to that guitar. I am eyeing a chrome pickguard and the chrome knobs as a start.

While I'm at it I should mention that whoever had this before me swapped out the pickups closest to the bridge and neck. The bridge pickup is a white Wilkinson. The neck pickup is plain white and has no indication of it's make. I assume the guy knew that these changes would be an improvement or he wouldn't have done it, but you never know. That said, the two white pickups kind of stick out like a sore thumb due to the all-black appearance of the guitar otherwise. Ya dig?

I paid $300 @ Guitar Center... pretty sweet.

Any and all advice is appreciated concerning any of this.

I'm at work but will post a pic later.

I have had an intense change of heart.

This guitar is stunning the way it is.

The all black first run of Aerodynes from Japan were brilliant instruments.

Mod it at your peril, I strongly expect the value of them to rise.

I'm just about to pick one up in translucent blue with Seymour Duncan's.
I would not change a thing on those.
Some guitars are best " leave well enough alone"
