I leave my guitar's tone controls on 10, 99% of the time.

Yep, but only with fender amps, you can use it to roll off that top end sparkle, its really handy to be honest!

Same with the volume knob. Your guitar sounds better at 8-9, Fact!

I adjust as necessary. Not everything sounds good cranked wide open.

+1

I'd agree...while I leave it on 10 most of the time sometimes it sounds a bit bright for rhythm work (or more jazzy stuff) and I roll off a little bit.

That's pretty much the way I use the knobs, mainly to roll off highs or add them back....the amp stays close to the same settings depending on the room.

Almost never use the tone knobs but use the volume knob to
tame the highs all the time!

Yes, I use the tone controls and the volume to get different tones according to which style of music that I play, and which pickup is selected. The only time that I don't use the tone controls would be with the middle pickup in a Strat, I like it better with no tone control.

Yes. I use them all the time. Different songs need different tones.

Almost never. IMHO they're like taking an axe to your tone. I know they're intended to roll of the highs, but they're kind of brutal, when what I probably wanted is a more focused approach like I get with tone stack on the amp. I just leave 'em wide open. If I ever rewire my pickguard, I might just get rid of them.

So, my answer would be: seldom

I have both of my Strats set up with a master volume and a master tone - 2 knobs with a custom pickguard. Usually leave the tone at 7-8.

If I'm on the neck pickup, I pretty much have the tone at 10. I like to roll it off as I switch through the more treble positions. It ends up at about 40-50% when I'm on the bridge pickup.

It depends. Generally, though on both guitar and bass it's pretty much set 'em and forget 'em.
