Hi,
I'm new here and new also in US. I've been in Texas now for three months (arrived from Europe so sorry for my bad English...)
I've just bought an American Standard Strat and I have a question. I tried three models in the store and each one had a second tone knob harder to turn than the two others one.
I was wondering if this is "normal", I did not expecting that... It seems that this second tone potientometer is different than the two others..
By the way on cheaper models that was no the case. Is it a "bad series" that this retailer had or something new
Any clue ?

Thanks a lot

Olivier.

Hi omielo,

Sounds like the "Delta Tone No Load Pot", which is stock on the Am Std. There is an "indent" position on the pot that removes it from the circuit when turned to 10. You'll feel the "hard to turn" part right at the end of the pot travel (10). I have it on my 08 Am Std, yes it's normal. :)

thank you very much for your anwer. I appreciate.
There are many post talking about this "Delta tone" pot. I will follow up and probably learn a lot....
The seller was not aware of that and believed that I was crazy to try the tone knob on every American Strat in the shop.... :)
