I've posted this on Mike Eldred forum, but just in case he doesn't reply I put it here too. I went to a shop today and saw an Am Standard that was slightly different form mine in the body shape. So, since I bought my Am Standard Strat in a local shop, it made me wonder whether the body is the original one. If it is, I was wondering, what are all the small holes around the big circular pool in the neck pocket for?

From what I can see in the pictures that is an Am Std body. The extra holes in the neck pocket are used to hold the body to a board while painting and handling. Although usually there are only two extra holes there, there can be more sometimes. Compare to the link below of an Am Std body.

Sometimes the neck pocket has some holes in that were used to hold it when its being painted.
