I have a squier, mexican standard,American standard, and one of the new deluxes. All good guitars in their own right. For the money I would suggest a American standard. Can't go wrong with that. And it's at you pricepoint.

The guy wants and american with texas specials. He would drop around $1180 for the AmSt plus the Texas pups, and I already offered a FSR one with Texas in it for $1199 and its already off his budget. So I guess the American Special is the way to go for him.

Didn´t get that mate. I´m quite relaxed today. I guess you should assume a lot when reading stuff. Besides that, Strats are pretty much sensitive guitars, as they have some sort of soul in each one of them, so why wouldnt we ? Cheers! 8)

Here's a nice looking Deluxe with Texas Special's and a humbucker. Stumbled upon it earlier and remembered reading your post this morning.

Welcome to the Forum 240SX (you're obviously a Nissan fan as they were great little cars)The Jimmie Vaughn with its Tex Mex pickups is also worth looking into and is cheaper than the American Standard etc. and it's just fabulous for cranking out blues-I get rave compliments about the sound of mine even from diehard Les Paul fans.

What do you guys think of the American Special HSS compared to the American Special SSS? Both have the texas special pickups.

Haha yeah I miss my old '95 240SX. I'll have to do some research into the Jimmie Vaughn edition. Thanks for the suggestion.

Personaly I quite don´t like very much the humbucker that fender uses, its not a match for the other texas specials. I recommend you go for 3 texas specials instead of 2 texas and a fender atomic humbucker. Or if you really wish that humbucker, swap it later for a seymour duncan or something.

+1 for going Fender.

+2 for the American Special Strat. That is a very nice strat, and I like the style of tremolo on it.
