I just put ddarrio 10s on my highway one strat. Brought her up to pitch and the bridge was cranked up on a wicked angle. I tried to tighted the claw srews a bit but with little to no real effect. Any ideas?
PS it has (came with) 3 springs in the back.
thanks moodus

With a thicker gauge of strings, you have to rebalance the string tension and the trem spring tension. It's a big balancing act.

Lower the tuning of the strings before you turn the claw screws in.

You will have to repeat the process of adjusting the screws and tuning the strings until the bridge returns to the original floating height. And in the process, your intonation should return to the right setting, though you may have to make slight adjustments to get it close to perfect.

Keep at it. It's enough to make you not want to change the gauge of strings you use .... unless you come to enjoy these adjustments. And that's why a lot of guys leave that back plate off: to make changing strings and adjusting the claw easier.
